Standing into Relationship: The Amida

The tradition calls the Amida HaT’filah THE prayer and teaches that the amida is the heart and soul of the liturgy. In the amida, we step into intimate relationship with the Infinite Presence. We offer praise and gratitude. We ask for help and guidance and we bow deeply into the Mystery that holds us all.

In this series of classes, we step into the expanse of the amida. Through a close text study, we listen to what the amida is literally saying and explore the hidden mysteries of its form, movement, and language. The mystical system of the sefirot, the Divine emanations, will inform our study and add further dimensions to the amida liturgy.
