Morning Meditation Sit 2018-07-26
Here, in the midst of summer, the Jewish calendar begins to turn us toward the New Year.
Begin slowly, the tradition teaches. Begin by listening.
Practice listening and paying attention to the sounds of the world around you.
Practice listening to the cries of your own spirit.
Practice listening to the experiences and yearnings of others.
Practice listening so as to discern the bonds that unite us.
These bonds, the tradition promises, will inspire our love.
We will sit together and practice listening deeply.
Much blessing to all,
Shalom,
Rabbi Yael Levy
