Morning Meditation Sit — Love and Forgiveness

As the book of Beresheet comes to a close, Joseph is mindful that that his life will soon end.

He says to his brothers,

Do not be afraid.

Do not be afraid, I am not all powerful.

Do not be afraid, our actions produce results

That are often different from what we had intended.

Life unfolds as it will.

And the Infinite Mystery is always present.

Joseph spoke these words with kindness right to their hearts. (Genesis 50:19-21)

The first book of the Torah ends with a message of love and forgiveness. And with a deep bow to the Infinite Mystery that encompasses and calls forth all life.

As we come to the end of this book of creation

Let us remember that we are all here together

Beautiful and broken beings

Doing our best to weave lives of goodness and blessing.

Let us call on the wisdom of those with whom we share this dance,

Trees, birds, rivers, sky,

And ask for help and guidance.

Let us bow to the Mystery

And rise together for healing and love.
