Preparing for Passover

The mystics teach that, in Egypt, da’at—awareness—was in exile.

Egypt was an experience of supreme disconnection.

We didn’t know we were connected to each other, to the earth, to mysterious unfolding of life.

To leave Egypt is to enter into the spaciousness of relational consciousness—and know (da’at) that we live in relationship to all beings.

To leave Egypt is to see ourselves in each other and to see God, the Mystery, in all.

This is a constant practice—we are called to leave Egypt again and again and again.
