Pausing in Awe and Wonder

Dear Friends,

Here is this week’s suggestion for practice as we tend the fire of devotion. If it speaks to you, we invite you to integrate it into your daily life.

PAUSING IN AWE AND WONDER

Once a day, as we eat something that comes from trees or the earth, we pause, examine its shape, color and texture, smell its fragrance and invite ourselves to wonder at the miracles of creation. Before eating, we say:

Baruch ata Yah elohaynu melech ha’olam borei pri ha’etz (ha’adamah)

Blessed are you Infinite One, our God, source of Mystery, who creates the fruit of the tree (of the earth).
