Turning of the Season
Dear Friends,
My season in the mountains immersing myself in the psalms is coming to a close. It has been wondrous and excruciating, awesome in every sense of the word.
The day before I arrived a massive storm had swept through the region.
Power was out. Trees were down. The earth was trembling.
My first night here, in light of candles and the growing moon, I opened my book of psalms at random to find a verse that would be a beacon for this time. Getting ready to leave I opened the book at random again asking for a verse to help close this sacred circle.
Here are the two verses that arrived:
Let us bend our knees and bow,
As we pour blessings into the Unfolding Mystery
Now and Forever,
Halleluyah
Psalm 115:18
Humbled, I eat
And am fulfilled.
I praise. I seek.
Our hearts will live forever.
Psalm 22:27
I look forward to coming back together as Elul begins and sharing some of the adventures of this time.
Much love to all
Shalom,
Rabbi Yael
We will return to live meditations on Thursday, September 5, and to Torah study on Monday, September 2. Read Rabbi Yael’s letter about summer plans.
