Video: Month of Tammuz

We welcome the new month of Tammuz.

The mystics teach that during Tammuz we “rectify our eyesight,” and practice seeing what is there rather than what our fears, expectations or habits conjure.  This month calls us to pause often and to lift our eyes, taking time to gaze, wonder and be curious about what we perceive. Here, Rabbi Yael proposes specific practices for the month of Tammuz.

Series -- Yishrei Lev: Directing the Heart through the Rhythms of Jewish Time

Each Hebrew month provides us with teachings and practices that continue to guide us in living with awareness, gratitude and relationship. With this in mind, A Way In is now offering a new series called Yishrei Lev - Directing the Heart through the Rhythms of Jewish Time. In this series, videos, expanded teachings, and "Psalms for our Times" will explore how the spiritual qualities of each Hebrew month can direct our awareness, guide our practices and inspire our actions. Each month will be introduced by a short video providing its unique teaching. This will focus our practices for the days ahead. This video is the second of the series, as we come to the beginning of the month of Tammuz.
