Sukkot 5785

Dear Friends,

As the yamim noraim deliver us into the embrace of Sukkot, I am hearing the calls of Psalm 65.

For Vision and Endurance, a Song to the Beloved

To you, Source of All, silence is praise.
To you, we make whole our vows.

Listen to our prayers,
In our humanness, we come to you,
As our transgressions overwhelm us,
You forgive.

Blessed are we as we draw close
And choose to dwell in the Sacred,
May we be filled with the goodness of the Divine Presence.

Source of Expanse,
Answer us with awesome justice,
Let us trust as deeply and fully
As the ends of the earth and the distant seas,

The Source of All has established the mountains with strength,
In them is discerning power.
The Source of All calms the wild seas, and quiets the roaring waves.
The Source of All calms the mayhem of raging nations.

From the ends of the earth, we see your signs and dwell in awe.

The rising of dawn and the coming of evening shout in joy.

You care for the land,
It overflows with abundance
Streams of water are filled with sacred presence.

You prepare nourishment,
Sustenance from earth.
Water flows from the ridges of hilltops
You soften the land with showers
And bless the sprouting growth.

You crown the year with goodness
Your paths are ripe with abundance.

Meadows and deserts are filled with plenty
Hills are girded with joy.

Meadows are clothed with flocks of sheep,
Valleys are covered with grain.
They raise a joyful shout,
They even sing.

Psalm 65

Chag Samayach,

May this season lift up beauty, gratitude and precious moments of joy.

Love,
Rabbi Yael
