Connection and Guidance

Dear Friends,

Blessings and greetings as we continue our journey from the mountain and celebrate the summer solstice. I love the summer and its offer to slow down and let time expand, but I also find it a challenging season for practice. Leaving the Omer and its fullness of ritual and intention, I often wonder:

How best do I focus my attention?

What can strengthen and inform my daily practice?

What can be a source of inspiration and guidance?

If you are looking for some guidance and connection these days, I invite you to explore some of the classes I have taught over the past two years. These are series of one, two, four and six week courses you can explore on your own or with a friend.

The Amida Class will take you into the mystical depths and heights of the Amida, exploring what the tradition calls “the Prayer,” the center of devotion. In this series we delve into the roots of the Amida, discovering how it guides us in stepping into alignment with ourselves and the Infinite Mystery we live within.

In the Psalms Class we explore how these ancient cries of the tradition speak to the present moment offering guidance and support.

In What Does God Have To Do With It we delve into ancient, contemporary and mystical ideas and experiences of God, listening with care and opening to discover what calls to us and what can help us stand strong in these times.

In Peering into the Mystery, we do just that, exploring the sefirot, the Divine emanations and the road map the mystics provide for understanding and interacting with the Infinite Cosmic Mystery.

In the Four Olamot, The Four Hidden and Revealed Worlds, we continue to explore the ways the mystics bring us face to face with cosmic mystery, gleaning from their teachings guidance that can help us navigate challenging and complex times.

In Prayer, Sacred Medicine for our Times, we look toward the ways prayer can lift, guide and nourish us

There are also classes that focus on Purim, Pesach, Chanukah and teachings, gifts and challenges of different Hebrew months.

Last year we gathered for After the Omer: Now What? Prayer and Spiritual Practice.

All the classes include video recordings (except the Amida class, which is sound only) and texts and course material including my translations of prayers and psalms. Finding a study partner to explore the classes with can be a great way to make connections, support your practice and lift up the journey.

I hope that these offerings help fill your summer with inspiring exploration and support for your ongoing practices and add to your summer fun.

Much blessing

Shalom, Rabbi Yael
